- What was the overall impact of propaganda used during WW1?
2. How is this indicative of all propaganda used during wars?
Most of the propaganda was see during World War One is incredibly similar to that of the propaganda used during World War Two and the Korean War. Propaganda has an incredibly difficult job, it is supposed to make war, the killing of innocent human beings in the name of your government, seem not just acceptable, but the right thing to do. In order to do its job, propaganda must smear the name of the deemed enemy country, and damn its people and their beliefs so that the soldiers won’t see the the sickening reality of their task. Propaganda is used to get a country’s citizen on board with the horror of war, and its a bit terrifying how easily it works.
3. Was there a trend in the propaganda you found?
The only trend is the trend of tarnishing a country’s culture in order to justify a war against them. There was a bit of a pattern of portraying the enemy as a dragon or something from a fairytale, and the home country as a knight or something similar. Metaphor were also used often so as to make it easier for the people to relate and understand the poster and its message.
